Our ASDAN Animal Care Short Course is a comprehensive program designed to provide students with the knowledge and skills needed to care for animals. This online prerecorded course consists of over 60 engaging lessons that cover a wide range of topics related to animal care. Each lesson is designed to take approximately one week to complete depending on the learner's indivdual rate of progression. There is no time limit on the course. Students will have full access to all powerpoint slides used in the course, as well as additional lesson resources to enhance their learning. In addition, participants will have the opportunity to join weekly online group Zoom trouble shooting sessions, where they can ask questions and receive additional support. Upon completion of the course, students will receive full moderation and assessment, and an ASDAN certification to showcase their achievement. This course is the perfect opportunity to expand your knowledge and understanding of animal care.
The Short Course is split into six modules, each containing activities based around a different aspect of animal care:
- Animal investigation
- Safety around animals
- Looking after animals
- Animals in trouble
- Animals and the law
- Careers in working with animals
The course is aimed at learners aged approximately 11+ years old. If your child is interested in the course but younger, please do contact me as they may be able to register if working at an appropriate academic level.

Virtual visits are an optional extra and are not required to successfully complete the course. They may be scheduled at times outside of the weekly Zoom sessions and, depending on the external provider, may or may not be recorded. All essential course content is fully provided and accessible without attending these sessions.
Please note that the weekly Zoom sessions are not recorded due to safeguarding issues however they are entirely optional for cmpletion of the course.
