No. All Zoom sessions are completely optional.
Your child can complete every course entirely self-paced using the pre-recorded lessons, worksheets and activities.
Zooms are there for families who enjoy extra support or want to explore topics together.
Your child can start at any time of the year and complete the course fully self-directed.
If you’d like to join the optional live Zoom sessions, there are four enrolment points:
September, November, January and April
Yes — all courses are designed specifically for:
• autistic learners
• ADHD / PDA profiles
• sensory needs
• anxiety
• learners who need structure, low demand and gentle pacing
• home-educated children
• learners attending school part-time
• learners who struggle in traditional classrooms
Every lesson is short, clear and step-by-step, with no pressure and no deadlines.
All courses are self-paced and designed to allow learners to progress at a pace that suits them.
Most learners complete a Short Course in around 6-9 months, although many take longer — and that is absolutely fine. Please note that all current courses must be completed by 1st April 2027.
Life Skills is designed as a 12-month personalised programme.
All you need is:
• a device that plays MP4 videos (phone, tablet, laptop, TV)
• ability to open PDFs and Word files
• internet connection
No special software or PowerPoint is required.
All lessons and resources are stored neatly on TutorBird, which is simple and SEN-friendly.
You’ll upload photos, worksheets or short videos to your child’s ASDAN e-portfolio.
I guide you through the whole process, including:
• what counts as evidence
• how to upload
• how to meet criteria
• how to stay on track
All assessment is gentle and supportive — no exams.
Yes.
All ASDAN Short Courses and the Life Skills Challenge Programme lead to an ASDAN certificate after successful moderation.
That’s absolutely fine — there is no expectation to talk, be on camera, or participate.
Many learners keep their camera/mic off.
And remember: Zoom is completely optional — your child can complete the full course without attending any sessions.
Yes.
Life Skills is fully bespoke, and even the Short Courses can be adapted with alternative challenges where needed.
If something isn’t the right fit, I will happily swap, simplify or adjust tasks.
• Animal Care, Gardening, Mini Vet Course — typically 11+
• Science and Environmental Studies — typically 13+
• Life Skills Programme — from WTE1 (approx. 5 years+) to Level 2 (GCSE level)
Younger learners may join if working at the right level — just ask!
Absolutely.
Some learners work independently, others work with a parent/carer — both are completely valid.
You’ll receive clear instructions, worksheets and evidence guidance.
Yes . Certificates can be used to:
• show progress
• evidence learning for EHCP reviews
• support applications
• enrich home-education records
• demonstrate life skills and personal development
You’ll receive:
1. A welcome email
2. Your Child Profile form
3. Login details for TutorBird
4. First steps for getting started
5. Your place reserved for the next enrolment point (if joining Zoom cohorts)
You can begin the lessons straight away on the platform.
No — you do not need access to animals to complete the course.
Every practical activity includes alternative options, and I provide clear video demonstrations showing the skills and checks step-by-step.
Learners can complete all evidence using:
• my video walkthroughs
• worksheets
• observations
The course is designed to be fully accessible, even if you don’t have pets at home.
