Animal Care Workbook – Module 4

The printed workbooks follow the Animal Care course in order:

1. Animal Investigation
2. Safety Around Animals
3. Looking After Animals
4. Animals in Trouble

You do not need to buy them all at once. Printed workbooks are optional and can be purchased as your learner reaches each module. Learners enrolled on the course can still access the included digital course resources online.

Part of the SENshine Animal Care series, Animals in Trouble explores some of the challenges faced by animals in our care and in the wider world.

Learners will investigate endangered animals, wildlife rescue and rehabilitation, stray animals, designer pets and selective breeding, while considering the important welfare and ethical questions surrounding each topic.

The workbook includes clear information, practical activities, research tasks, comparisons and opportunities for learners to share their own ideas and opinions.

Rather than simply learning facts, learners are encouraged to think about why animals may need help, how people can support them and how our choices can affect animal welfare.

Created in the accessible SENshine style, activities are broken into manageable sections with plenty of space for learners to work at their own pace.

This workbook can be used alongside the SENshine Animal Care course or as a stand-alone resource for home education, alternative provision and learners with a particular interest in animals.

Topics include:

  • Endangered animals and conservation
  • Wildlife in trouble Rescue and rehabilitation
  • Stray animals
  • Designer pets and selective breeding
  • Animal welfare and ethical choices
  • Research, reflection and independent learning
